Nearest wave near Buenos Aires

« on: December 07 2010 18:12:00 »

I'm gonna live to Buenos Aires for a year and the one thing that is on my mind is: living in Buenos Aires central is it possible to surf at least twice a week? Thanks

If you need information about Lisbon tell me something

Amigo

You're looking at a minimum 350km drive to the Bs As province coast before you hit surfable waves at san Clemente del Tuyo.  But its a giant beachbreak from there till Mar Del Plata, which is only 400km and has all if not most of the spots listed on this site.  That said I scored some good waves at Villla Gessell / Carilo and Ostende (check out the pier at Ostende).  Quiver would be longboard, fish plus 6'2" thruster for the odd days when its really firing.

I also scored lots of really crappy small days with onshore winds.  Uruguay and Brazil are better options.
