Car share with surfers from Brisbane to Surf Paradise?« on: May 09 2013 18:05:00 »
I would like to know (all is in the title) if it is common place in Australia (I've just arrived from France :) ) to do some carshare to share the fuel cost. I'd like to surf on the Gold Coast regularly on week-ends, and this solution could be very good for me (rather than carrying my surfboard in buses).
If someone is going by and is interested (for tomorrow or the day after tomorrow for instance), just let me know!
Thanks, see you!

Hi! thank you for your message, I live in Woollongabba, just near the Highway towards the GC :) . I'll soon buy a shortboard, like 6".
We keep in touch!

Why not! :) When do you plan to go to the coast? This week-end?

Ok thank you I keep an eye on this post :)
I went to the GC by train + bus this week-end, that's ok but a bit long! Great great place anyway.
See you! :)

I imagine you have a good command of English and French languages.
I don't actually live in Brisbane but have in the past. I feel it would be easier for me to be employed if I lived in Brisbane. Would you please indicate what suburb you reside in and what size board you prefer to ride. I'd be more interested in sharing costs to Stradbroke Island but am considering your arrangement.

I used to try to hitch from Woolloongabba with a 9'6" board in the late 1960s. Never got a lift, but at least I tried a few times. I know very little French and you may be able to teach me some on trips. I haven't lived in Brisbane for a long time but I allways seemed to have a job when I had.The last few yrs i'm only doing courses but at least get to the surf 2 times a w'k.

I carn't promise this is going to happen Martin but it is a possibility as I would like to go Strabdroke Island and surf. I'm not living in Brisbane yet and it should take a couple of weeks if I am to move to the Gabba region again. So hope things go good for you in the time being.
