When is the best time to surf at the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast?

« on: September 04 2013 01:09:00 »

Hey everyboday,
I would like to go on a roadtrip along the coast and would like to know what is the best time to surf at the Gold coast and Sunsihe Coast? I am an intermediate surfer. I thought february and march should be good. Any recommendations?
Thanks
Carmen

Feb and March are indeed great times, warm , good waves & as a result crowded

Never.
Unless you like 2', fat poor quality waves. I have lived in and visited this area for many years. There is a big surf scene in the area but mostly its about the scene and not about good waves.  Check the live surf cams in the area and you will see what I mean. If you happened to be in the area when a cyclone swell hits ... once or twice a year then there are good waves at Noosa Heads ... but then the crowd is insane.
