Where to surf if staying in Sydney.......?« on: November 26 2005 10:11:00 »
A couple of friends and I are going to be taking a two week vacation from Iraq to check out Australia. We'll be in Sydney for about two weeks and where wondering if/how far we have to go to find some decent surf. And also what months are best to go.... Two of us are intermediate and two are beginners. Thanks for any help you can give us. :)

i meant its got cold water most of the time. Head north, theres nothing like surfin in boardies as the sun rises.
In Sydney you mostly have to have a springsuit for the early sessions (except for Dec & Jan)

Thats a common misconception!!Australia's Huge and therefore has a very varied climate, but back to the spots. Come to Cronulla but dont bring boardies....we like to surf in speedos at this beach. It shows our manliness!!

hey Cronulla boy, how bout helping the guy with some info. Looks like you've done heaps of travellin and needed help from others before. get a life away from the city you loser.
Sydney is pretty warm all the way from dec-April, Autumn is the best time of year for surfing Australia all over. Best to get out of the city and main spots, because there are too many narrow-minded wankers tripping there. You'll always do well travelling north as it's mainly beachbreaks and easy to surf. If you want to challenge yourself, just ask the locals.
Njoy. Hope I don't suffer any fools like our mate from Cronulla when I'm oS next. Probably wouldn't for that matter, they're too busy protecting their hood, living the gangsta life...fools!!!
