your pretty much starved of waves up there mate but if the weather is just right or the lords be praised there's a cyclone... farnborough beach about 20ks out of yeppoon main town can really rip and has a beautiful groundie on occassions and for very onshore winds kemp beach is a goer. if you want to know how to get there just head to gavin nash surfboards and gav'll help you out. locals up here are an extremely friendly bunch and will take you to the pub after a good sesh. best option though is to head south 2 hours and head to agnes waters. nice beach and point breaks

theres a few places in mackay that can get a wave if you have a strong SE wind for a few days, such as north wall or lambets

farnborough gets fairly good waves throughout the year. generally around 2-3 foot most of the year sometimes kicking up to 5 foot. being a local i can safely say yeppoon gets good waves but you just got to know where. head up to nine mile or 3 rivers beach and check that out.
