i´m gonna be in australia during august and i´m looking for a good surfspot to start of in queensland.i snowboarded, wakeboarded etc. for a long time.....so i hope it´ll work
is there a place with some easy waves and maybe a surfschool to start of somewhere between brisbane and cairns?

mate, sunny coast or gold coast - the best learning beaches are any of the main beach breaks onm a small day the points are all too crowddded nowdays, there is no surf at all above the sunshine coast as its is blocked by the great barrier reef.

davo I think you might want to have a look at a map or go back to primary school mate. The great barrier reef finishes along way before the sunshine coast
