Study Abroad In Newcastle?« on: April 05 2006 17:04:00 »
Ive read many comments on other colleges in Aus, but i was wondering about newcastle. I just wanna surf my brains out when im over there. Is the university close to the beach. Do i take public transportation to the beach? hows the student life there? is the city safe? Are the surfing beaches really crowded? and i plan on soing for fall semester should i expect surf during that time?
Thanks for the help,

Newcastle is awesome!! Especially if you wanna go surfing. The beaches are really cool and so are the waves ;). Every March the have the Newcastle Surfest where the top surfers compete... Newcastle is definitely your city. I studied there for a semester and absolutely loved it.
Uni is unfortnately not close to the beach but on the other side of the city which makes it a bit difficult to get there (even more with your board). Nevertheless you might get an appartment close to the beach (The Kingston appartments are just across the street from Newcastle beach!).
So if you get the chance to go there, don't miss out on it!
