oppinions of Sydney as a place to live« on: April 08 2006 19:04:00 »
Hi! I'm an Spanish surfer, i've receive a job offer in Sydney but i'm not sure to go. I've read that the waves there are great but... also a lot of stories about racism to tann people and problems with the locals... I'm a respectfull surfer, never looking for problems. Are all those stories truth? Are there many spots? I NEED HEEEELLLP! thanks to all.

I've travelled and lived in both places (Australia and Spain)..........Sydney's a beautiful, cosmopolitan city but like all major cities it has its problems......lets say you're not gonna get punched in the face in the street just for being Spanish. Maybe you will if you drop in on someone in Cronulla. I was really surprised at the amount of blatant racism in Spain though......maybe you'll get a taste of what its like to be a foreigner living in Spain.......but then again I was living in Barcelona and we all know the Catalans dont class themselves as Spanish (rightly or not). Just go and make up your mind for yourself!!
