RE: Queensland in Sept/Oct?« Reply #1 on: May 10 2006 04:05:00 »
Hi, there will be waves, though the wind tends to be NE at this time of the year and waves smaller. Saying we can get great waves (short swells) in Sept/oct.There are less crowds this time of year as out ofholidays and water is cooler. Early morning is usually no wind then northerlys come up around 10am. there are plenty of little back beaches that are protected from Northerly winds. If you are looking to surf Kirra, Burliegh, the Superbank etc Sept/Oct is not the right time, however you may get the odd good day. (come from Jan-April)
