Hi mate, what you want to do is grab a car and head north. The central coast has some good waves for learners, avoca, cocobanna and even terrigal will be good. Other wise head north about 2 hrs, you get to Newcastle, there are loads of open beaches around this area that are uncrowded and fun. If you want longer point waves, head even further north to a place called port maquarie. Head over to the north wall side, if your in a 4x4 your laughing because there are tones of empty breaks up this way that have pack quite a punch in the spring season. If all else fails and you are still doing the trip us north the Gold Coast is always on around that time, however there will be more people per square meter then there is on the London Tube during peak hours.
