Manly vs. Bondi

« on: November 30 2006 01:11:00 »

Which city would be a better pick for surfing, Manly or Bondi?  Is there one that is better than the other or are they pretty similar?

Manly by a long shot.  Bondi beach is not all that big, absolutely packed with learners and on a very busy road.  Manly has a lovely small town feel and more room on the beach to get a bit of space to youself without killing too many people.

Bondi is definitely better. The surf break at Bondi varies with the tide but remains good no matter what the tide is. Manly is narrow with variable surf breaks. Bondi rules OK>

Manly is probally more upmarket than Bondi.
Manly has more of a Point set up and the famous Fairy Bower around the corner.
