what is the water temp on may

can any one tell me whats the condition in may ? brisbane area . do i need a wetsuite ? short ? long ? can my kids swim safly at that time?

I was in Surfers Paradise last August and went for a swim no problems, but if u were gonna be in the water for a surf I'd definitely recommend a wetsuit - go for the steamer not just a springy. Rips were VERY strong and for children especially would be very dangerous, although I think some of the beaches in Surfers Paradise are patrolled by lifesavers all year round - Happy Holidays :)

p.s - there was heaps of swell around everywhere I went from Surfers rite up to Noosa.
