There are HEAPS or great surf spots! And waves that are second in size only to Hawaii. When you get down here just gp into "Pure Surf" at Rokeby (just out of Hobart) and Nick Stranger will guide you in the right direction....

depending on ur experience level, travel east from Hobart direction Port Arthur along Storm Bay. theres a spot called 'Shipstern Bluff'. packs a punch and has the heaviest barrels in the sthern hemisphere.

I really liked Bicheno.
I wish I could handle the cold and I would go into going there too.
I even find it too cold around Byron.
A couple of years ago i'd be out without a wetsuit in winter.
You got work at Horbart?
Shipsterns is a mega heavy break.

SHIPSTERN BLUFF is awesome!
CLIFTON BEACH is okay.
CARLTON RIVERMOUTH is okay.
WARNING: SHIPSTERN BLUFF HAS GOT HUGE WAVE. 2.5 - 3.5m Swell.
