I'm moving to Adelaide from Newcastle, and would like to know more about surrounding beaches. I just started surfing two months ago, and would like to know whether there any suitable spots within , a 2 hour drive from the city. Thanks!! |

Your only going to be living in Adelaide mate sharks will be your only worry the waves on the midcoast aren't overly heavy there probably comparable to a ripple in a bath tub the juice is way down south or over the west coast (heavy) but some of the best waves in this country can be had in these places. Enjoy evething this state has to offer and charge. |

its true that south oz has some of the heaviest waves to be found ANYWHERE, but if you are living in adelaide you'll have no probs. just drive down to victor, some decent beachies there (waits, parsons etc) |

I grew up surfing in adelaide and would have to say that the best beach in Adelaide for surf is west beach. if you head down noarlunga way there are some good spots there including seaford, moana (on its day) and christies. if you head down to victor you will find a good range of breaks all along the immediate coast, especially knights and parsons and waitpinga. take it easy though as there are some pretty big waves and rips, not ideal for a beginner.

I'm about to do the same thing, immigration reasons mean I sadly have to leave sydney in a few months but the south australians will have me, is it feasible to live by the beach and drive into work everyday? |
