Surf in Byron Bay during october

Im heading to Byron during october and was wondering what the surf is usually like at this time of year. I was there in january and it was small (4ft) but perfect bazzas. Just a general guide to what it is like, cheers

Generally over flat spells. October know for late eve thunder storms. (Perhaps) Mainly beach break month / not much point surf (Generally)
