RE: Does sunny coast get barrels?« Reply #1 on: September 10 2009 00:09:00 »
I didn't see any for yrs and then it can just happen.
I don't know if tours are done up north of Noosa towards Double Island Point. I've seen heaps of tubes up the north shore beach with no one out. You have to drive up on the sand beach. People do it on low tides with 2 wheel drive vehicles and some are known not to return as the tide get them and under the sand they go. You usually have to go a fair way up to get the good waves.

Sure does, great place for clean & green barrels.
A few rock ledges for hardcore tubes. An island with perfect reef waves. An offshore reef peak. A handful of pointbreaks both soft & heavy. And numerous beachies that are primo on their day ! Also 80km of 4WD waves north of Noosa with a mysto pointbreak that can turn on if ya lucky. The Sunny Coast is mainly head high waves, but can get big in right conditions. Cool locals, Go searching, HAVE FUN !
