I dont think you should go to Bathsheba if you are a beginner. Ypu could try Fraites which is in Atlantic Shores because that is where surf schools go to learn.

Avoid Bathsheba!, very dangerous for a novice, strong rips, heavy waves and sharp rock shelf inside. Try Dover beach in St Lawrence Gap and Freights on the edge of Enterprise drive. Both spots are easy going and safe. Freights is an amazing spot with very few people out. long rides with a longboard on the right swell. Watch the turtles from the road! very cool!.
