surfing in the north east of brasil u got some very tasty surf, i reccomend recife area lots of breaks or if you got plenty of cash, then head to Fernandoh de Naronha which is a small island of the east coast which pritty much has awesome surf year round....some of the few reef breaks of brasil are here!!
also if u head slightly more southern u got salvador which has a huge coast of surf, beach breaks than can be pritty fickle but generally its beautiful surroundings...warm water gotta love it!!

now i've heard about some good spots in north east of brasil, but does somebody know something about the living costs there? rent for a house? eat and drink? rent for cars or motorcycles? or what about the nightlife?

Canoa quebrada is a long way from recife.
Living costs in that area are pretty cheap, Pousada (B&B) are around 10 15 US per night, a good meal with lots of meat and a few beers costs around 7 US$

Yep there's surf shops, selling good, alsmost brand new boards for around 175 US
