Surfing In Porto Seguro?« on: May 04 2006 14:05:00 »
Coming down the coast in June from Salvador to Rio. Is there good surf in Porto Seguro? My friend really wants to stop there. I've read the surfing is good in Itacare a few hours north, but know nothing of the conditions in Porto Seguro. Any info would be grrrrrrreat!

Aloha go direct to Itacare and skip P.Seguro, or go to central Uruquai to Paloma but its now cold there, but good surf!
Saquarema, south of P.seguro is a great place for surfing to!
Check it out yourself, have fun!

There are no waves at Porto Seguro but I suggest you to go there. It's worth it.
In Salvador, go to Praia do Forte (40 km north), Scar Reef (30 Km north), Stella Maris (10 Km North), etc....than travel to Itacaré....there are many good waves there......after all that stay for 2 or 3 days in porto seguro, for the beautifull vistas, the nightlife and the parties....go there!
Than you'll find very good waves at espirito santo (the next state after bahia).....try to find Regência (RayJaneSeeYa...with american accent), Guarapari, Setiba Pina.
Than, in Rio state you'll find, Arraial do Cabo, Saquarema, Itacoatiara, Rio de Janeiro.......whoo what a nice trip!!!
all the best,
