surfing in itacare

HI!we`re two norwegian girls who are going to itacare to surf for about three weeks in the beginning of july. We plan to fly from rio to salvador and were wondering how to get from there to itecare without spending a fortune on plane tics.. and also would prefer not to spend ages on a bus.... We would also greatly appreciate tips on where to find cheap lodgings in itecare:)

RE: surfing in itacare

it is a difficult way to go from Salvador to Itacare, (you can think of going direct rio/ilheus) from Salvador the only options that you have are to fly up to Ilheus, or to go in bus, or to do a trip of ship for Morros de São Paulo, but it is a little complicated
In the website of there, you can find all the information itacare.com.br
And do know BArra Grande, (Praia dos Algodões, between many others) that is beautiful!!!!
cheers

Go to Ilheus than Itacare, look for Dani Preto and say you are Tim's friend from Sao paulo, he will take care of you.Check Barra Grande, good tip from marcela, great waves less crowded.Good luck.
