What about late July - beginning of August?
Is it a good time to learn to surf at Itacare?

I wil also be in Itacare for 5 weeks end of June and all of July
I think now it is the winter season so waves are a bit bigger but still much much lower than other places e.g. Bali

I recommend a spot on the São Paulo coast known as "Riviera de São Lourenço". It's perfect for beginners who never surfed before and there's an excellent surf school on the right corner of the beach ("Escola de Surf Riviera"). The nearest major airport, Guarulhos International (GRU), is approximately 60 miles away from this spot.
