THE best spot for a novice??

Hey!! I m a girl planning a trip to Brasil on my own for a month around march or mid march and I m looking for a beach where I could stay for a bit and really learn surfing properly (many intents but in the wrong place or the wrong conditions...). I m in the stage of learning to catch green water. Does any one have any suggestions?

Also, should I rent or should I rather buy a board that I know I wouldn t bring back home? I m thinking about a mini malibu or something like that.
Thanks for the help!!

Pipa should be a good place to start. There is good surf possibilities for beginners with surf schools at Madeiro beach and Love beach. Have a look at www.pipabrazil.com for more info on Pipa itself

RE: THE best spot for a novice??

Thanks I will for sure check it out! I ve heard a lot of ppl talking about it.
Would there be anything intreresting for me in the south of the country? I got friends in Rio, SP, and Curitiba so maybe i could combine visiting them for a few days and surfing but would go in this area only if there s a good surfspot as I m looking for (up to about a 12 or 15 hours bus ride away from any of those cities)...
