Surfing in July« on: April 26 2010 13:04:00 »
I am currently living in Brazil and have a friend who is looking to come and visit in July. Ideally we would like to spend the time he is hear bumming around on beaches so he can surf. I have been doing some research and am having a hard time getting information on if there is anywhere with good waves in July. Any help would be really appreciated.

Oi como vai?
There is good surf in July. The winter seems to bring some good swell. I guess it depends where you will be going. The last year I've been going to Florianopolis about every 3 months and there is always somewhere to surf on the island all year round. I will be in Florianopolis again this July 6th for a few days to surf in the cold water then go to Salvador Bahia for a couple of weeks of board shorts only surfing. If you will be surfing in the south of Brazil (Florianopolis) you'll need a 3mm wet suit.
