hi, any place at Praia Mole or you can find a place at Barra da Lagoa, but you will need take a bus to go surfing... so the best place is Praia Mole or some hotels - Pousada close to Praia da Joaquina,,,, the water is freezing even in the summer,,but it is beatiful

I'm going to Rio next month to go surfing,and I dont speak portugese, hell Ive never been outof the country so I need some help...
My family is giving me as a birthday present, money to stay in a nice hotel, but the thing is, I have no idea where to stay..I saw this http://praiaipanema.com/ but I'm not sure and I foundthis where theyoffer different prices.. http://www.twenga.com/
Where do you thinkg I should stay? Ipanema, Copacabana, Lebron, Bara da Tijuca? (yes ive been doing research online ^^)
Do you think i should stay in a normal hotel and then use the money when im there...is Rio expensive?

A good place is in the surf camp e chale Gel & Susanne in Guarda do Embau, good constante rivermouth waves no need for car. Quoted as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It is on the continent 50 km south in greater florianopolis.
