i'm new here too, but i oculd gather from all the info is that it all depends on wind conditions and specific areas where the waves wraps up against some point and is rotected from onshore conditions. rob seems to kjnow much about it though.

Body boarding and surfing is alive and ripping in Owen Sound. We usualy surf Sauble Beach and the east side of Georgian Bay,a spot called LEMONS,barrels and 10 footers are common, awesome spot, found it 3 years ago.Find Balaclava on the map, turn left and head for the lake when the winds are over 20km West,Northwest,North, our crew consists of 7 riders.Spread the word.

man you guys (lake surfers) are bloody keen. i guess you'd have to be right on top of every system if you want to score good waves. some ocean surfers snicker at some of the waves you ride, but damn, anyone would have to respect your spirit.

Hey John,Get a map of Owen Sound.Hwy 26, in between Owen sound and Meaford look for Grey road 15, go to Annan, then to balaclava, hang a left to the water, this spot is almost directly across from griffith island.Heard theres some surf in Meaford at the marina.Sauble beach is free of ice from what I here, hope to surf this week, forecast looks good. E mail me back and I'll try and send you some pictures of Lemons.
