I live in Niagara, have surfed around the world and am gearing up to get into the fresh scene locally.
Anyone interested in getting in contact with me, feel free - I'm looking to me some locals.
Also - if there isn't a Niagara based club - lets get one going!

Hi. I live in the City of Erie on the shore of the lake. My brother and I surf at Presque Isle. I have only seen one other surfer here. I find that surprising considering that the surfing conditions here are perfect. There are regularly 8 ft waves and the water is crystal clear. I wish I could find some more local surfers. But it is nice to know that you surf and that I'm not alone!

Ann...awesome to hear you've been getting out on the lakes. I got back from oz 6 months ago and have been dying to get out again. I'm in etobicoke...where have you been riding on Lake Ontario?

8 ft waves usually occur Sept-Nov. Just the other day there was a forcast for 12 ft waves. The biggest waves get kicked up when the wind is from the W to WNW and is over 20 mph.

Try Board Sports on Young/Eglington area. Good people but expensive boards (problem with being so far from most shapers).

Hey I am in Montreal but come originally from Ontario.
I just started on river waves but always dreamed of doing the great lakes.
If anyone does have a surfing club down in Southern Ontario that would be great as I come down often to visit relatives etc. It would be awesome to have some people to hook up with or to get info on when to come (forcasts)

so i've recently went to hawaii and did some surfing there and just had such a good time that i need to do it again. i know that people surf out on the great lakes and i was wondering if the fall season is a good time to surf. and what would be some good spots to go within an hour or an hour and a half drive from the gta? me and my buddy are looking to get into some lake surfing and would be glad if someone wanted to help us out
