Beginner Surfing Kingston, ON?

Hi, I've been interested in learning to surf for quite some time, but I live in Kingston, ON and thats nowhere near the ocean.  Recently I've found in posts that there are a few good places around Kingston to surf, only problem is that not only have I never surfed, but I don't know if theres any place in Kingston to rent the gear.  If anyone has some information for me or would be willing to let me and a friend tag along somewhere for some lessons it would be much appreciated!

RE: Beginner Surfing Kingston, ON?

I think your better off posting this question on the topic of (any one interetsed in starting a surf club in Toronto) if your looking for helpful feed back from Ontario. Seems their is more people on there that may be able to help you with your location.

RE: Beginner Surfing Kingston, ON?

hi..My GF and I surf here in Kingston..we have two boards...best advice is to get a wetsuit..there are some hiddens gems in the summer ..waes when the rest of the lake is flat...be glad to help you out wih surfing around here..

RE: Beginner Surfing Kingston, ON?

Hey I'm from Kingston but I spend most of my holidays else where in the world trying to find places to surf, so I would love to hear where these hiddern gems are in K-town. I know most people like to keep these things to themselves so we don't create crowds, but lets be honest from one surfer to another it's a sport only some excel at, but everyone should try. Not only that I don't think there is too much surfing gear in Kingston for people to get there hands on. So once again I would love to find where these places are so I can try something I enjoy so much in my own backyard.
