Where can I buy a foamie in Canada / Practicing pop ups« on: August 16 2009 13:08:00 »
I hear you can buy a foamie for like $100 at Costco but that is probably only for the US.
I doubt there is any surfing to be had where I live on Georgian Bay but I wanted to buy a cheap board for practicing pop ups for when I try surfing on vacation. Is it possible to pop up just paddling out on the water on a long foamie or do I need to be propelled by a wave in order to be able to pop up and get to my feet without the board just immediately sinking into the water?

I know I can practice pop ups on the ground but I found it to be a different beast on a wobbly board trying to catch a wave.
