Flying to Halifax next week to find some surf

« on: August 16 2009 15:08:00 »

Hey all,

I'm headed out to Halifax next saturday to find some decent waves. I heard Lawrencetown was good but if anyone knows more i'd like to find out. I'll be there for 5 days and i've got my own board.

I went surfing out at Lawrencetown last Saturday just before the storm hit.  Make sure you've got a minimum 5-7mm suit, I think the water was max. 12 degrees C.  If you need to rent gear Dacane's in Halifax is good but expensive, Happy Dudes Surf Emporium is about 2K from the beach and is probably your best bet.  There's alot of rock and a couple of nice reefs out there, have fun!
