Hey, I'm totally new as well and looking for people to learn some things from as well.. I live on Lake Huron (Kincardine area), but I have no prob traveling a few hours away. I dont have a board as of yet. Planning on getting one in the next few months. Are you from Mississauga? Thats where I'm originally from.

Hey, Yes I'm from Mississauga. I don't have a board yet either. I was thinking of hitting a camp down south to get the hang of it then purchase a board after..

I was thinking about doing the same thing, but unfortunately the cost factor gets in the way right now. I've found in visiting different forums for lake surfing, that people seem to be quite helpful. I've talked to a few people who seem willing to help out by lending a board, etc when they are in the area. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that sometime soon I will get to go! I moved up here about 3 yrs ago & only found out about lake surfing recently. Hilarious reading posts about places right near where I used to live in Mississauga (Port Credit) that people surf at & I never knew! Man, am I ever blind! lol

lol...I'd really love to try lake surfing. But I hate cold water so I figured I might as well be comfortable..therefore down south. Where are you planning to get your board?...

Not too sure yet. I've had some suggestions. There is a couple of places out in BC apparently that are pretty good. I've also been checking for used ones on some of the different forums. When I'm ready to buy one, I will do some more research & ask around to see if people know friends, etc that may be selling a used one or I will contact one of the places out west & talk to them about getting one. Do you have a wetsuit for cold water? I just bought one, so I'm set that way. Now I just need the board!! lol
