Am coming to Chile at the end of November for a few months to surf, don't know too much about the place but it sounds pretty good. Any advice

im going to school in concepcion starting in august and i was wondering if the surf gets any good. im from san francisco so im used to the cold water but how cold does it get? thanks for any advice you can offer, and i most likely wont have a car to drive north to santiago or punto lobos

Hey Chase I've been in Northern Chile during their winter and everybody was wearing 3/3's. I was the only one with 4/3 (being from Santa Cruz) and I was toasty. I would imagine that in a 4/3 you will be dialed. Maybe some booties and a hood too.

i traveled alone in chile a few years ago. easy, friendly. lots of young intl travelers. spanish is helpful and in many places necessary. buses easy and cheap and on time. homestays as well.
don't hesitate if this is your first trip from the states.

I was told that the water temp at Vena was 22c or about 71o is this not true??? water trmp in cal in the winter is 56o and a 3/2 works well.please e-mail
