Hi there, I'm also looking for that info cause I might go to Chile from 19 Nov until 15 Dec.
Would be fun to keep in touch and maybe meet there so that we don't go surfing alone.
Doesn't look that the best destination to learn surfing though but I'm sure we can find something small to learn.

There's lots of waves on the coast noth of Valpariaso around Vina del Mar. There's some small wave spots and There's a really good surf spot guide available from Blue Planet Surf Maps. I think they have two, one for north chile and one for central. i think the one you'd want would be for central

If you are going to stay in Valparaíso, the best places if you want to learn are "playa la boca" (30 min. from valparaiso) or maitencillo (50 min. from valparaíso). Other spots like Ritoque or Reñaca could be dangerous if you are a beginner.
