Surf in March

Hola! Im heading to Valparaiso at the end of March and will spend 6 weeks traveling up to Arica. If (and when ) I snap my surfboard are there many surf shops around to buy a new one? Are they expensive? Also does anyone know when the surf season starts ( Ie do you think there will be some overhead waves in April?) Muchas gracias amigos!

RE: Surf in March

Hey! Regards from Chile! Regarding your questions, I recommend you begin your surf trip in pichilemu and its sorroundings, puertecillo, punta de lobos, 3 hour bus trip from Santiago....and probably, the best waves you will find in our country, on the other hand I suggest you buy a couple of boards in santiago.. www.surfhouse.cl or www.surfersparadise.cl they aren't so expensive and you may find used ones.. (currency: 150.000 = USD300).. C u around bro..
