Surfing Pacific Coast Colombia....Safety and Security« on: June 11 2012 10:06:00 »
Just wanna heads up to all out there...I've been living in El Valle, Bahia Solano, Choco for 2 years now, and there is NO SECURITY ISSUE, AND NO DANGER!!! There are many old reports out there that this place is dangerous and not recommended...I've been here surfing for years on sic beah breaks, points, rivermouths, etc and loving it. I'm married to a local girl, and these firsthand insights from my experience, and that of my wife and her family confirm that there is no security problem this way. Come out and have a look for yourself!!!

Great news man! I really want to know this waves in Colombia. It is really hard to find information about the spots, and everywhere I've looked they warn about this security problem... I wish to travel around an unknown place, search for some uncrowded waves and warm water, and I think Colombia its that place that I've been looking for...

Dont belive everything you read of course take care but in my opinion at least the area around bahia salano is safe and gets safer all the time there has been plenty of surfers and tourist over the last few years . Im sure if you are travelling south america you have been to alot more dangerous places than here !! Do some reasearch chat to people but the risks are minimal and dont out way the experience !!
