Costa Rica - end of December. What is better: Caribbean or Pacific coasts?

Hi!
I'm planning to surf in Costa Rica in the end of December and wonder which destination to choose?
I was told that wave are better on Caribbean side during this time of the year. Or Pacific spots are still worth to be visited.

Any suggestions and recommendations are much appreciated.

I think the pacific side will be more consistent, with waves in the waist to head high range daily, Caribbean can have the chance to produce some stuff but not in the same consistency.

Pacific side, especially Jaco beach or playa hermosa. There are several beaches that you can surf around Jaco. Best hostel to stay is Riva Jaco, you can check it on there facebook page. $12 per night, cool and clean!

Pacific side will definetly have the better waves. Tamarindo ( a bit of a tacky surf town) or Nosara will have very good waves
