Guacallilo and Valor Point« on: February 09 2006 17:02:00 »
Has anyone out there ever surfed Guacallilo or Valor Point in Central Pacific?
They are only a few miles apart in the area between Jaco and Boca Barranca. They are both left point break waves (Guacallilo breaks off an estuary mouth) off the beaten path. These spots are listed in the Surfer Magazine Travel Guide for Costa Rica. I found both these spots and checked them out in March 2005 but never got a chance to go back and surf them. I would like to hear from anyone who has.

I have surfed Guacallilo..In fact I was there on New Years Eve 1999. It can line up awesome, a roping 200 yard left.
The locals call it Cacallilo because it is so dirty. I thought it was pretty cool spot. Some local dudes came and watched us surf from the cliff.

Wow, I have only seen the break at the mouth of the estuary. Is there another good break near the cliffs?
