traveling about costa rica+surfing for 3,5 months« on: February 18 2006 10:02:00 »
yo! i´m a beginning surfer, only three weeks of biaritz on my resume..
will visit Costa rica from 15th of april till the 1st off august, but don´t really know where to start. i´m all alone so i´d like to start at some working-volentairly spot where i can meet fun (and reliable) people to go traveling about costa rica and whereever the journey will lead us... i heard from a spot called rancho burrica, but can´t find the adress (or anything) on the net to ask about how and what...
does anybothy in here can help me?
I prefer starting on a working spot because otherwise it would be likely for me to go to a language-course start, but they are extremely expensive (and that in a very cheap country...)

It's easy to get by in Costa Rica knowing very little Spanish. Spanish schools in Costa Rica are not the cheapest as compared to other countries like Nicaragua and Guatemala.
Tamarindo is a good place for beginners to learn and meet lots of other beginner and traveling surfers. Its not much on culture in Tamarindo mainly just a big party of travelers. Or try out Mal Pais to learn and meet people.

I will be in the Tamarindo area just for week at thr end of April and will also be a sol surfer although a little better than a beginner and might take a trip up to Witches rock for a day and it would be cheaper for more than one person.
