surfboard rental in Mal Pais« on: October 28 2006 01:10:00 »
I am planning a trip to Mal Pais and I have come to the conclusion that bringing my board with me will be too much hassle as well as money. I have read a couple of posts on here about people renting boards while they were down there. What is the selection of boards like during the dry/high season? A couple of people have suggested buying a board when you get there and then selling it before you leave. Is there really enough demand for boards down there for this to happen?
By the way, I am traveling solo and will be there during the 2nd week of January so if anyone will be out there around the same time and wants to catch some waves let me know.

I'm doing the same thing, and my plan is to buy a board and then sell it before I leave CR a couple weeks later. I've talked to some people down there, and although it depends on how long you'll be staying, renting a board is probably going to cost you more, and the rentals will be minimal since its high season. Whereas if you buy a used board and then sell it back, you'll only be losing about 100 bucks (which is a lot less than what you'd be spending on rentals/airline charges/etc)
