Some people I know have a cool surfretreat in Santa Teresa. The beach in front of their place is really good for surfing and the town is small but nice. I think they offer packages with and without surfinglessons but all inclusive with meals and yoga. Check it out, me and some friends are going there too this winter! www.lucero-surfretreats.com or on Gordonsguide.com

I would highly recommend Jim Hogan's surf camp just south of Jaco at Hermosa Beach. My daughter has been to 2 surf camps in Costa and 1 in Bali and nothing came close to this one. Jim was longboard champ in 95/96 and she learned more in 1 wk with him than anywhere else. She is planning to head back ... it was safe, fun, she progressed and it ranked as the best trip of her life(and she is well travelled) .... good luck
