If I were to start a surf tourism company, where?« on: March 25 2008 19:03:00 »
Hey guys, im doing a project for my 3rd year Bachelor's of Tourism course, and I am wondering where would be the best place to start a surf tourism company, where would it be?? I plan on traveling to CR in July/August, so I figured I might as well do my homework and get some pre-travel advice! I need towns that could expand from surf tourism and have good breaks near-by, not places like Jaco where it is already well-developed. The goal is surf tourism development.
Thanks very much!!!!!

I forgot to mention, this project is basically my own research for further use, I am really considering starting a surf tour company once I finish my degree here.
The company would have a Homebase on either coast (most likely pacific), and would offer 1-15 day tours around the country or the pacific coast. other day trips to parks and jungles would be extra options and such, or if it's flat it is a good alternative. Accommodation would be contracted to a small hotel most likely, or not dont know yet, and local guides are hired under the company. I have more details if anyone is interested, but as of right now, these are only assumptions/ideas.
feel free to email me with some help!

You could create a bit a havoc with the locals and the local surfers mate, if your really serious. When it comes to surfing in another country, just remember have respect and it you are lucky enough to come across an undiscovered surf break, keep if between your mates. Keep surfin.
