First time surfing--Tamarindo or Dominical?

My husband and I are new to surfing.  We'll be in CR for a week in May and would like to take lessons.  We're looking for a laid-back town with good, friendly, energy.  From what I've heard, the surfing itself is pretty comparable for beginners in both places.  Is this true?   Which would you recommend?  (it's our first time in CR)  Thanks!

I would recommend tamarindo. It has a great beginners wave as well as plenty of talented instructors and ideal weather!
