Tamarindo in Sep/Oct« on: May 21 2008 14:05:00 »
Hi - myself and my girlfriend are taking some time off work and want to spend 1-2 months learning to surf. We were thinking of heading to Tamarindo in September, but I have heard these are the two rainiest months of the year in Costa Rica.
Does anyone have experience of how rainy its likely to be - is it heavy showers for a short period or constant rain. Just want to get a sense for whether its likely to be miserable or not!

i go to cr every year, during our summer (which the tcis call winter) and it will rain almost every day. but worry not my friend. it usually rains right at dawn, when the sun is going down over the horizon. it will then rain for anything from 15 minutes to 2 hours. it usualy will only ruin dinner plans if you are walking.
this time is also the best time to surf in cr because there are very few tourists at this time.
