Learning to surf / Costa Rico / Pacific side

« on: May 26 2008 00:05:00 »

Hello,

I have never surfed but always wanted to. I am considering going to
Costa Rico to learn how.

I am afraid as well as excited. I keep
thinking about getting attacked by sharks or getting pulled out to sea.

Are there some things I should know before I go?

dont worry about sharks or getting pulled out to sea.  your biggest worry is crowds and aggressive locals who dont surf well but think that they should get treated as if they do.  you might want to learn to surf before you go to CR or it is kind of a waste.
