Carribean side in November? The Straight Goods

I'm planning to drop into Puerto Viejo / Cocles area in November.  I know it's kind of a shoulder season, but will the swell be there yet?  I'm still fairly green and travelling with a beginner so we don't need overhead, I just don't want to show up and find it flat.  Any input from those who've been there at that time of year would be appreciated.  I'm open to suggestions for other locations if this won't work.

RE: Carribean side in November? The Straight Goods

Been there many years ago at that time.  We spent 3-4 days with small waves surfing a beach break around corner from salsa, then suddenly a swell came in and it was epic.  We had it with only 3-4 locals out for about two hours before word got out and it then became very crowded.  Some of my best barrels on that day, very fun.  Watch the shallow reef at Salsa, i heard the reef came up a bit.  You should be ok on that time for waves, beautiful coast.  Check wetsand for the carrib forecast and plan your trip by the swell, sometimes you can get late season southern hemis on the pacific side.
