best surf spots?
The surf is really good everywhere on the Pacific coast. However, I recommand that you go in the Nicoya Peninsula in the north -> a bit less people than in the Jaco area... and let's say Jaco isn't exactly the nicest city in the country.
Here are a couple
1. Playa Negra (right hand reef)
2. Playa Avellanas (beach break that'll look like a small pipeline on the right conditions)
3. Playa Junquillal -> sick bowl.
4. Witch's Rock -> go there.
5. Marbellas
6. There are tons of breaks in the Tamarindo vicinity. Get a 4X4 to move around if your budget allows it.
enjoy.
