going back to CR in january 09 for 2 weeks

« on: October 06 2008 21:10:00 »

I had gone to CR with a couple of my buddies in august and stayed in Jaco, which was sick. We surfed playa hermosa pretty much the whole time, it was def not what i expected. We caught the swell at a bad time i guess...Im stoked because we planned a trip to head back down for the first 2 weeks in january. I wanted to see if anyone can help me out and give me some advice on how the conditions are for the winter in the central pacific area? Is it worth to stay there, or head more north?

Hey Dane..

I´ve been a couple of times at costa, my first time i heard all my friends telling me that hermosa, dominical were awesome spots, so i stayed 17 days between these spots, but i had the same bad luck you guys had, there was not a good swell, and nothing at all to do...
So i decided to go again, i went this last april, my friend told me about a receptive called MentesAbiertas Surf Expeditions, and i decided to make this last trip with them.... defenently the best thing i did, they took me everywhere, playa negra, tamarindo, mal pais, barranca hermosa (this time breaking), dominical and pavones...

they have a different style of travelling, no steady schedule, so i has the one that controled the trip all moments, they take care of the hotels and food everywhere, it was not included on the price but always with discounts, and besides all that they have a professional camera for surf shots, and they took photos of me surfing in all this spots and burned in a cd.... besides they charge cheap...
I´m already planning another trip with them it was awesome, their website is www.mentesabiertas.net the guide name is Daniel... try contact them its worth it..
if you need anything you can also contact me at my email...
good luck with your trip
