Surfing in may -June+ looking a place to stay.

Hi everyone, me and a friend are gonna go to costa rica for the 2 last week of may and the first of june, so i have some questions concerning the suf there.
-We are planning to sur4f in the pacific coast so do you know if it is the right season.
- and we are thinkin about staying around a week in jaco and playa hermosa and another week in tamarindo + all the near spots.
-Do you need cheap hostels in these areas ( really cheap because we don t have at all a lot of money), or do you know people who could host us or show us the spot, surf with us.... we are rea;;y looking to meet and spend time surfing with local people.
thank you cery much,
see u there surfing in the water....

Check out patrick.tc for information on the pacific coast.

Surfing is good because the storms have started in the south (near antarctic) and they send up swell.

I'm heading to Mal Pais, Costa Rica on Thursday for a month and I've been there once before. I'm not too sure about what the surf is like at this time of year (I'm a beginner so couldn't really help u with that part anyways) but I know that you can stay for $10/night at the Mal Pais surf camp which is sweet (I stayed there) and there's cabana's that we rented last time (which I'm hoping are still there and are available) that were $6/night.  You can stay really cheap for sure and it's a sweet place...pretty much all surfers and locals.

Good luck...Maybe I'll see u there!
