Continental normally charges 100 dollars one way on international flights for boradbags with up to 2 boards inside. I squeezed two shortboards in a boardbag. As my flight was delayed thay did not charge me anything though. Maybe your lucky, too!

Hey guys, we flew through `all of the pacific ocean with
Continental this winter and this airline is the worst if you are traveling with anything but your carry-on you will pay exrtra. I couldn't take my board to the islands we were visitng because it was going to cost me over $400 for one short board!!! WE were also at LAX in the middle of april 2009 and met a girl that was traveling to Chile on Continental and two days before she was to leave on her flight they changed the ticketing rules so they DO NOT ALLOW ANY surf boards on the plane. They would not even let her go on the plane even thought she bought the ticket months before and they didnt even let her know of the rule change. If you are taking boards, bikes, skiis, etc. try a carrier OTHER then an american one.
