Waves and Wind Conditions in April« on: November 23 2015 11:11:00 »
Hey guys, what's up?
I'm planning a surftrip with my wife and couple of friends, but the only timeslot available is mid April/2016.
I was checking in some sites (wannasurf, surfline, etc) and seems mid April is not the best time to go.
Since I'll have only 15 for vacations in 2016 (and the dollar is REALLY HIGH for Brazilians now), I really need/want to be in the right place in the right time.
I would love to surf some 6' barrell over a caribbean reef....
Someone had been there in mid April before and maybe help me to decide?

April is not a bad time for the North coast of the Dominican Republic. There are still swells from the north that produce overhead waves. Don't know when easter, semana santa is but try to avoid this, it will be very busy.

Thanks for your prompt reply and advice about Semana Santa.
Since I'm traveling with my wife, if I'd a great session in the morning it would not be a problem enjoy some beers in the beach or try some other activity.
But I REALLY need a good morning glass session with a beautiful 6' wave breaking over caribbean reef... :)
What do you think about time to stay?
15 days is enough?
Thanks a lot.

I cannot guarantee you 6' and glassy waves anywhere in the world.
Do I think that you will get plenty of good surfing days during a 15 days stay in the DR. Yes
