Search for surfspot in Uvero Alto« on: February 06 2006 17:02:00 »
I travel in 2 weeks ( sry that I write so late) in DR. I stay in Uvero Alto. Now I ask you after surfspot and waveconditions in Uvero Alto. I stay there only 8 days and so I have no time to travel in DR.
It would be a wasteful journey with an Longboard from germany to the DR , when there are no Waves and it would be awful to stay there without my board an see awsome waves. :-)
Ok I´m beginner and I already happy with smaller wave conditions.
Over an fast answer I would be very happy.
Thank`s a lot and you are welcome to fifa worldcup.

I have been researching DR as I go down there in april.
From what I gather Nort facing beaches are better for larger surf. When I look at the map and see uvelo alto, it appears to be exposed to the north meaning you should see waves.
The water seems to stay around 76 farenheit year round - bring a vest and or a rash guard. Bring basic booties as the bottom has urchins. YOu should not hit the bottom but you will likely stand up and touch it - you do not want the urchins in your feet!
lastly, do more research to make sure but this is what I have found!
Pray for surf!
